 100 Species Project

So in part of our reevaluation of how we perceive things and understand things amidst working on the Gratitude Experiment, I had a thought. Simple really if you ask me. We love what we know and understand. In the seeds of understanding,  we find the fruit of gratitude and respect. In the last 5 days that we have been here on the island, we are continuously amazed by the beauty that surrounds us and in awe of natures power. We have decided to launch a small idea, the “Name 100 Species” project. Over the next year, we want to learn about  and be able to identify 100 species found in our local area. Please feel free to play along, homeschooler or not. As we identify local plants or animals we will snap a picture, find the name (common, scientific, or both) and then post it to the blog. I would be happy to email you the picture and a link. Please join us in shattering the growing trend towards the disconnection of people and nature. :)
