Girls night out for all you non Hannah Montana fans. I went out to dinner with a friend tonight. It was so much fun! I believe that all too often we get immensely focused on our children’s needs and how to enrich their lives that we forget to enhance our own. I sat for close to two hours just chatting away. I forgot how much fun it is to have a new friendship blossom. (Especially one where we don’t have to reach for commonalities or be buddies because our kids are buddies) Nope, it was all grown up talk about politics, husbands and friends with an accompanying beer to make the night. We capped off the evening with a chick flick. It’s so nice when the person next to you isn’t playing the part of movie critic and can watch 27 dresses and actually laugh and when you do. (Sorry Mike the truth hurts!) So moms out there I challenge you to find time in your schedule this week to meet up with a friend, have a cup of tea, and just be women and not just homeschooling mom extraordinaire.
